All of our Premium Range fire blankets, including the 1.2m x 1.2m Jacpack fire blanket have the essential performance requirement in that they must extinguish a cooking oil fire (as detailed in BS EN 1869:2019). To achieve this, the fire blanket must be flexible, with good draping qualities, to eliminate oxygen from the burning oil and to allow the oil to cool gradually to below its self-ignition temperature. It should not reignite when the blanket is removed after 17 minutes.

In addition the fire blanket must now extinguish a flammable fuel fire (as detailed in BS EN 1869:2019). To achieve this, the fire blanket must be flexible, eliminate oxygen from the burning fuel. It should not reignite when the blanket is removed after 4 minutes.
